Manuscript Submission
The quarterly CURRENT GYNECOLOGIC ONCOLOGY (formerly: GINEKOLOGIA ONKOLOGICZNA) publishes original papers (experimental, clinical, laboratory), review articles and case reports in the field of oncologic gynecology. It publishes also letters to the Editor, reports and material from congresses, book reviews and announcements about planned scientific events. Manuscripts should be submitted in two copies. All manuscripts are subject to anonymous review. The Editorial Board reserves itself the right to add editorial comment to published articles.

Ethical requirements
When papers presenting results of human studies are submitted for publication, it is considered that the Authors state thereby that the study complies with the Declaration of Helsinki and has been accepted by local Ethical Committee.
Manuscript
Manuscripts should be submitted in two identical copies, with a cover letter including all Authors’ consent for publication of results of their studies and a statement that the paper has not been hitherto published entirely in another medical journal.
- The volume of original and review articles should not exceed 20 pages, that of case reports - 10 pages and that of other forms - 5 pages (including references, abstracts, tables and figures).
- Manuscripts should be typed on A4 page format, double-spaced, using a 12-point type (e.g. Arial or Times New Roman). The left margin should be 4 cm, all others - 2.5 cm (except the first page).
- Position of tables and figures should be marked in text.
- Results of biochemical tests and other parameters should be reported using SI units.
- On top of the first page please leave 10 cm free space for technical-editorial annotations. The first page should contain the following items:
- full first and last names of Author(s);
- full title of paper (in Polish and English);
- full name of the institution the Author(s) is affiliated to;
- scientific title, initial of first name and full last name of head of unit where the paper originated;
- detailed address of Author(s);
- abstract (between 200 and 250 words) in Polish and in English;
- key words in Polish and in English.
- The text of original and clinical papers should be organized in following sections: Introduction, Aim of paper, Material and methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusions. Abstracts (item 6f) should have a similar structure (Aim of paper, Material and method, Results, Conclusions).
- References, tables, figures and captions should be submitted on separate pages.
- Authors quoting data from other sources should obtain permission to do so from respective authors and publishers.
References
References should be listed in the order of appearance. Number of references should not exceed 30 (original and review papers) or 15 (case reports). Only published papers should be referred to.
- Bibliographic description of publications in journals should include in this order: name of author, initial letter of first name (only first three authors should be quoted), title of paper, abbreviated name of journal conforming to Index Medicus, year of publication, number of volume, first and last page.
- Description of books should include in this order: name of author, initial letter of first name (only first three authors should be quoted), title, consecutive number of editions, name of publisher, place and year of publication. In the case of a collective work, the name of author responsible for entire publication is placed after the title of book and an abbreviation „red.” (editor).
- Description of chapters in books should include in this order: author (only first three authors should be quoted) and title of chapter, then „W:”, then name of the editor/editors, title of book, name of publisher, place and year of publication, first and last page of the chapter.
Tables
Tables should be numbered using Arabic numerals and submitted on separate A4 pages in two copies.
Figures
Figures should be submitted in two copies, drawn using black or colored ink on white paper, drawn by hand or using a computer technique and a laser printer, or as black and white photos on shining paper. Figures should be numbered using Arabic numerals. Captions should be submitted on a separate page. Data sheets should be attached to graphs.
Electronic media
Typescript should be accompanied by a CD-ROM/DVD-ROM with complete manuscript saved using the Word format. Text and graphics should be saved as separate files.
Copyright
The editor acquires full copyright to published papers (including the right to print and to publish them using electronic media, such as CD and internet). Only printing of abstracts is permitted without consent of the editor. Authors do not receive any pay when their creations are used for this purpose. |
